Kendra Lee Sanders is a Chicago-based cinematographer finishing a PhD in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago (check it out).
Her training in film theory and history complements her aesthetic sensibilities and intuition. Kendra understands cinematography as serving the film and enjoys thinking about how to push, bend, and break formal conventions to tell stories and portray characters in meaningful ways. Kendra believes in collaboration. She likes to work alongside the director to craft a compelling visual language.
Kendra is proudly from Kentucky with Puerto Rican roots. When not behind a camera, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, being in nature, riding her 1200C Sportster, and boxing.
Documentary on fishing in Chicago (in post-production).
